A Trophy Weekend, Again!

Sunday, May 06, 2007 | 1:40 pm

Sunday afternoon put me in the very unfamiliar position of having to barrack (not 'root'!) for Arsenal. If Chelsea came away from this match with anything other than full points, my beloved Red Devils would be crowned champions of England.

I got home from my own game to see "The Arse" 1-nil up and Chelsea reduced to 10 men. But Chelsea's resolve was impressive and they came on strong in the last 20 minutes but could only manage the draw. Thank you Khalid Boulahrouz, thank you (shudder) Jens Lehman, and thank you Christiano!

And suddenly it was Spring (however briefly)

Saturday, May 05, 2007 | 5:11 pm

The first few days of May were warm and hazy here, with the flora and the fauna going appropriately crazy. It didn't really last, with a cold change sweeping in mid week and threatening to dampen this weekend.

But the buds wouldn't be denied, so here's a few shots from our first spring with a garden!

This is the first bud from the rose bush that was here when we arrived, shot taken on Monday.

And here it is on Tuesday. No time to waste!

And just for more of that Spring-y feeling, here's some flowers I bought for the GW in celebration of our 2nd Anniversary. Time flies!
